Micromax funbook hack | Use any dongle|


Micromax funbook is largest selling tablet in india with more than 13 % share , sported with a 1.2 GHz Cortex A8 Processor and costing only Rs. 6499. A must buy for everyone.

My friend just bought this tablet and the first thing he was whining about was that it only supports tata photon dongle which will cost him rs 500 more...


 So we worked up to check if other dongles could work or not, he has a MTS dongle (CDMA ZTE AC2746 ) and I have a Idea netsetter (Airtel Huawei E1550 unlocked). It was not even hard to connect these dongles ...Try these steps

Steps to follow:-

For Idea Netsetter

1. Connect the Mini 2 USB connector to the port on your funbook

2. Connect the other end of the Mini 2 USB connector with the USB dongle.

3. When I plugged in the USB dongle , the connection is established automatically.

For MTS dongle

 1. Connect the Mini 2 USB connector to the port on your funbook

2. Connect the other end of the Mini 2 USB connector with the USB dongle.


3. Go to Menu>>Settings>>Wireless & Network>>More.

4. Select Mobile Networks and then check Data Enabled option and select the Access Point Names to select from available list. If your connections APN is not available then create one for your connection.

*MTS settings->

APN --> sp.mts
username --> internet@internet.mtsindia.in
password --> 123
Dial number --> #777
MCC -->302 
MNC --> 660.



Then simply connect.... :)


If you have any other dongle or its above steps not working comment us your service provider and details of your dongle we will tell you a solution.

  1. I bought funbook p275 only couple of days ago and to my disappointment was told that this doesnt work with tata photon plus OLIVE device and that it is only compatible with Huewie Ec156 model..
    Can you guys help get over this,,

    1. you can try some custom rom, they support other dongles.

  3. @anonymous We will try with Tata photon, first have to find if someone have it or not ... I believe it should work as mts and tata both are zte dongles...

  9. I have tatadocomo photon+ but i have use the other service provider like idea or uninor services .can i unlock them and use it in my funbook if yes then tel me how?

    and also give the APN deatil for seting the service provider in funbook.

  11. Like karan khune said, the apn is not getting saved on my funbook infinity p275. when i open the access point names menu, tata and reliance, with same apn, #777 r the only ones appearing. i try to add new apn, but its not saving.
    can u help me?

  12. I wanted to know if the preloaded apps like facebook can be accessed without internet connection? Can i access google play and surf without using a dongle?

  13. Without internet u can see the logo of Facebook... without a dongle nope, until and unless you have a wifi connection.
