Google is believed to launch a 10-inch slate, Nexus 10, later this year with Jelly Bean on board

Barely a week after the Nexus 7 broke cover, rumours of the Nexus 10 are already doing the rounds of the tech world. Apparently, Google is working on the 10-inch tablet and is hoping to release it in the next few months, armed with Android’s latest operating system and a quad-core processor.

Android Authority came across a report on MyDrivers.com that detailed Google’s next big offering. According to the Chinese site, the Nexus 10 will run on a quad-core Tegra 3 processor from Nvidia and will be powered by the newly unveiled Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system.

Google’s tablet will supposedly ship in two variants: one with an internal storage of 16 GB and one with an internal storage of 32 GB. Whether the two variants will offer microSD support is yet unknown.

The most exciting bit in the latest rumour surround the Nexus 10 is its price tag. The 16 GB variant of the slate is expected to retail at $299, approx. Rs. 15,000. Just a little costlier than the Nexus 7, that’s a steal.

Moreover, given the average price point of $500, approx. Rs. 25,000, of full sized tablets that are backed by powerful cores, the Nexus 10 is sure to be a game changer. If it does retail with the starting price tag of $299, not only will if offer the latest in technology at a reasonable rate, it will force the competition to rethink their sales strategies as well. For the consumer, it seems like a dream come true.

Though there has been talk of the Nexus 10 in the past, the rumour mills have just picked up the tablet with vigor. Tune in to KYMI as we bring you the latest on Google’s full-sized tablet.
